Just wanted to let everybody know that i will put the money i collated from the meet to use in terms of club subscriptions shortly - i have been very ill over the last week, and am only just recovering.. so please bear with me - the club subscriptions ARE coming!

the subscriptions are only for melbourne clubs and *crikey if you know of any melbourne clubs that may have slipped through the cracks, then feel free to let me know what they are in a NOTE.. thanks a bunch.


Heres what went on:

When: Saturday 22nd September 2007
Where: Alexandra Avenue BBQ's [on the Yarra river]
Time: Meet at Flinders Street Station at 1pm [we will hover there for about 15 mins for other people to rock up]
What to bring: gold coins to donate for bbq & games, hat, throw rug to sit on, Art gear, Cameras, soccer ball, cricket set, Friends!

I got to Flinders St station a tad earlier than i had anticipated. I waited 1 hour for =cdaile and her hubby to rock up, and spotted *meikahidenori and *zoggin-eck while i waited.. eventually caught up with =cdaile and hovered over to the meeting area, i had specified on the original journal.. A few had already migrated there, and so we decided to wait for people to meet us, and luckily i had made a really cheesy looking banner that caught even STRANGERS taking a peek or two.. yey for us.
After about 15 mins [just after 1pm, by this stage] the group was quite large, which suprised me, we had already gotten aproximately 20 people waiting with us at the station.. so they went down with =darkangelkalika to find a bbq while the rest of us waited for slow pokes to show up. When they finally did, we started heading over to the BBQ area which ... was... a... long... WALK!! sorry guys.. blame emma!

After the much unwanted exercise we all got, we searched for a bbq. unfortunately due to the change of location and me having absolutely NO clue about melbourne.. suffice to say, it took a little longer than i had hoped. i think sometime around 1:50pm we finally started getting some food onto a bbq that wasnt being used by other people. And by about 2:40-ish, the food was cooked..

the lesson i have learnt is? - - - organise bbq's 2 hours earlier

i sat and took peoples names and donations for the clubs subscriptions and the games, and answered any questions people had and said hi to everyone, even though i only recognised a few peoples faces..

and to those names which are wrong - feel free to comment underneath so i know exactly what your username was [hard to read other peoples handwritings sometimes! sowwy]

after eating food of sorts.. some of us got involved in *meikahidenori's speed drawing. i think we only did 3 drawing sets.. but it was pretty good. each went for 5 mins. the first one she only had one or two people join in, but after people saw what was going on, lots of people joined in which made it more competative and fun! However i cut my judging short, because i had to organise group photos, and arrange games so that i could get rid of all the prizes i had stashed away, that $Heidi had so graciously given us!

we ended up playing a game where you blow up balloons in 10 seconds and the person with the biggest balloon gets a prize.. then we played celebrity heads and everyone got a prize.

=cdaile took lots of photos of the prize winners i believe.. i didnt because i was so exhausted lol.. so keep an eye on her scraps or journal for that info..


At the end of it all when i was dying to leave [not due to the company people! dont worry] i was absolutely exhausted and asked everyone if they had fun.. i heard a dreary "yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeessss" that sounded like the dead had risen, so i had to ask again, louder.. and finally recieved "YEEEESS!!!!" and that made me satisfied..

not sure if people know the stress and organising that goes into these dreadful things, but i dont do it to get recognition, i do it so i can meet you filthy lot! and perhaps make some friends.. so it was great talking to the few who kept me company, while i was watching the donations like a hawk, thanks for that! xx

I really want to give =cdaile the biggest thanks, she spent most of the time, standing at the bbq, cooking all the meat.. and it took FOREVER.. so go and hug her or something nice.. she deserves it.

then there is ~disgracian he kept me company most of the time, and got me an icecream! yey! thanks!

and of course, last but not least, =darkangelkalika for putting up with me when the games were clearly her domain. and for her being such a good sport.. go hug her people. she deserves it too!




after having such a long day with you peeps, then going out to dinner, i'm pleased to announce that i'm sick lol moreso than yesterday... i'm going back to bed now.. thanks for reading.. and thanks for coming - to you all who supported us!! xxxxxx
